Deutsche Telekom has again received the test seal “Trusted Site Privacy” from TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH (TÜVIT) confirming the company’s safe handling of client data.
Every day, Deutsche Telekom administers a huge volume of data of its clients with landline and cell phone contracts. Ranking first is the protection of personal client data and the security of IT systems.
TÜVIT has audited the billing processes in the fields of landlines and cellular telephony, data centers and applications of Telekom for nine months, concluding with the reconfirmation of the 2014 certification. In the course of the audit, the experts scrutinized the data protection and the IT security of the processes.
Dirk Kretzschmar, Managing Director TÜVIT says, “Integrity and security are essential for a telecommunications provider. The certificates are an important confirmation for Telekom clients that their sensitive data is handled properly.”
The awarded certificates are valid for two years before the billing chains are audited again. “The digital world constantly develops new and more complex data processing models. The more important for us becomes data protection as part of our digital responsibility towards our clients whose satisfaction is our top priority,” explains Claus-Dieter Ulmer, Telekom Representative for data protection. Moreover, “this certificate strengthens the trust in our brand,” rejoices Klaus Werner, Director of Finance Telekom Deutschland GmbH.
